r3mix.net :the truth about ripping & mp3 encoder quality Brilliant site about the various merits of MP3 encoding. Which is the best one to use at certain bitrates. Has quality graphs etc. Very Nice Sunday, January 28, 2001
Welcome to chess.net Interesting chess site I will explore. I have a number of friends who are interested in the odd chess game. I shall have to try and meet up with them on this service and play a game or best of 3 series. I'm sure this will lead to many a late night musing over lost pawns and castled kings etc. As soon as I can register at least. Friday, January 26, 2001
The Mp3 Alternative: Main Page A great place to look for Alternative Music on an Australian Radio Station- Triple J. They do have other music there, but if you heard it on Triple J and it's a half decent song, chances are you can find something by the band on this web page. Just listening to The Hottest 100 for 2000 and trying to find a number of the songs. Seems there are quite a few here. Monday, January 08, 2001
Well I've now done it. 2 words. WEBCAM!!! I've managed to hook my Mini-DV camera up to my computer to provide you a glimpse into my room of all things. I will apologise now for the mess. I will be doing my best to have it online as much as possible, butunfortunately some downtime will occur. i.e. I might take the video camera out and about for some more "PUKE MOVIES" LOL. Well, the webcam can be viewed here. Please click "YES" to close the prompt box that will appear. It is simply a loader page for the cam and there is no other information on the page. Enjoy! Well, finally it has been done. The "infamous" movie of 4 Pukes!!! JPC - you are the man!! Well, for everyones enjoyment there is now a way you can revisit that experience by way of Digital Video Camera and MPEG compression. The movies have been uploaded to a server which I hope will be fast enough for most of you all to download from. They can be viewed in higher quality HERE (11,730,948 bytes) or lower quality HERE (6,193,156 bytes). Please post feedback if you feel compelled to vent your spleen on the total lack of morals in having me publish this utter trash or if you otherwise love watching people puke then feel free to let me know as well. Well, that's it for now. This blog entry ends here. Thursday, December 07, 2000
Wow, what a day. Greg and I were going to Moora to do some virus cleaning work. Anyways Greg had just put his car in to have some work done. He was officially reprimanded by the service company about having "bald tyres". I don't think either of us really realised how bald the tyres were at the time we left. Now this is a 2 hour car journey there and 2 hours back. Needless to say here's only one real reason I'm writing about this. We had a blowout less than half the way to Moora. fortunately the tyre didn't disintegrate and we were able to pull off to the side of the road and Greg changed the tyre. We continued for a little while to see if it was worth continuing. Unfortunately we would have got home after midnight and with work the next day it was really unfeasible to continue. We drove home on two different tryes. Hopefully this didn't chop out the diff. Well, I'm home in one piece and Greg will be getting the tyres replaced as soon as possible. Hopefully tomorrow. Early start tomorrow. Migrating users form a Unix system over toa Windows 2000 system while still retaining the Unix authentication etc. Should be very interesting. I'm looking forward to it. Well, time for sleep once again. Tuesday, December 05, 2000
Well. It's 8:56 and I haven't been to the movies. I'm not going to the movies so Unbreakable will have to wait for another day. I found out that one of my friends is a "Chaetophobiac" tonight. WOW! Well, there's not much for me to do tonight. I think it's about time I hit the pillow early. *GONE*
Here I am at work. What a day, installing software, virus removal instructions. It never ends. Can I recommend for anyone out there in the world of IT or considering getting into IT to seriously consider starting up a "Fish 'n' Chips" store instead. It's a whole lot less demanding I expect. Well, post number two. These are getting longer now. I think I am going to see a movie tonight. Unbreakable. Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson, what a combination of fine actors. If only John Travolta..... Jackie Brown - meets - Pulp Fiction, or am I thinking of Michael Keaton?? I don't know anymore. BLUR!!! Time to go. Calls to answer and work to do. Signing off once again.
This is my first ever post. I am totally new to this. I'm sure I'll have something slightly more interesting to post another day. I have work tomorrow. Sleep now. ZZZzzzzz..... |
