More playing with the PalmPix:

It seems it's not very good at close-ups, darkness, or colours. Hmm.

You know what they should do, rather than spend billions and billions of dollars on bombing a nation (where the majority of people had nothing to do with this), is institute a global minimum wage. This way these people won't be as exploited and won't resent the US as much. I know I'll get emails from people saying "the US isn't exploitive" (some in harsher language), but if you ("you" including Canadians) look at the clothes you're wearing right now, your shoes and CDs and palmpilots, and if you look for the little label that says where they were made, you'll see that most of these items were manufactured in poor countries. Where the workers would have been paid next to nothing. Okay. That's enough ranting. I have to get to work.

Okay. I've decided what I'm going to do with my life (or at least the next few years). Here's the plan:
1. Now until mid-May, 2002: stay where I am in Whitehorse and work, work, work and save money. Maybe go home at Christmas to see the family.
2. Mid-May, 2002, quit my job and spend a few weeks travelling around the Yukon with my mom (she wants to come visit).
3. Work for the summer in Dawson City. Live in a tent. Party. Try to save money.
4. End of September, 2002, quit my job (it's the end of the season anyway) and take a couple of weeks to get back home to Ontario.
5. Spend a couple of weeks at home.
6. November, 2002, begin 6-month-trip #1.
7. May, 2003, get home from trip, spend a few weeks at home.
8. Go find another summer job somewhere. Maybe Dawson City again, maybe St. Johns Newfoundland. Who knows?!
9. Repeat steps 4-8, insert 6-month-trip #2.
10. Again, insert 6-month-trip #3.
11. May, 2004, decide on what the next plan will be.

The big trips are: 1. India, Nepal, Bangladesh; 2. Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia; 3. Egypt, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania. Haven't actually decided yet which option will be first, altough I'm leaning towards No.2.

Of course, if I find someone to spend my life with, I'll probably have to totally rework the plan.

Does anyone watch West Wing? Or Spin City? Could someone explain to me the significance of the tattered/framed American flag on the wall in Josh's office (on WW) and Mike's office (on SC)?

The cost of film and processing is getting expensive (let alone the cost of scanning slides to post here - I have over six hundred slides (shot over the last three months) I would love to share, but I can't). I think I might buy a cheap digital camera just to practice composition with. Any suggestions?

"Holy shit Batman, how much longer can Hoshq's links list get?" A lot longer, it seems. In order to avoid a design flaw, the links list will optimally need to exceed the info text in the red section on the left. Anyhow, I've been adding links at random, mostly based on design and the grammar of the first few lines. If anyone finds a link which contains questionable content (if it's sexist, racist, homophobic, etc.) let me know and I'll promptly remove it.

If I were American, I'd create an American flag/patriotism template and then ask Ev to post it on the blogger page. If I was American, that is.
