How can anyone take this man seriously?

Dan Nordquist, on the niceness of Minnesota
$15 bought me 30 feet of cable, and $15 bought me a cheapie new ethernet card for Adam Walter's computer, now known as "LivingRoomLover". I'm glad I splurged for the extra 5 feet of cable, because I don't think my originally planned 25 feet would have cut it. Lucky me. Instead of sitting down with Adam and playing hearts, now we can sit in completely separate rooms and play hearts over the computer. Huh, technology is wonderful.
I got up at 4AM this morning to drive Jesse "Humdingah" Factor to the airport. His plane to MN had 13 people on it.
12:42AM
Understanding is very important. One way to ensure that the US will be attacked again, is for us to go out and attack someone else. Ultimately, I hope that cooler heads prevail.

3:12AM
I was crossing the 59th St. bridge on foot, or on my bike. I saw Jessica Swangel and Megan Brown. They were just coming into Manhattan, headed towards their new place on the corner of 59th St. and Avenue 4A4. I rode with them, past the Kinko's all night computer center. They didn't have any furniture. I told Jessica that a few nights ago I had dreamt about her. They needed their resumes printed, and I told them I would take their disks to my house and print them up, since I lived just over the bridge in Woodside. They gave me their disks. Megan gave me a couple dollars, and Jessica gave me more than twenty dollars. I put all but a few bucks in Megan's hand and said, "Give this to Jessica for me, will you?" As I rode away on my bike, I remember the Kinko's nearby. I rode there, and tried to use a computer. They were all busy.
The end.
3:00AM - Yes,
it's true, I am a heterosexual white male. Still, things are getting better in the US, for everyone. Perhaps not as quickly as they should, but we are moving in the right direction.
The show tonight went very well. After a moment of silence, and a the playing/singing of the national anthem, the opera began. Of course, Tom Pacio and Adam Walters couldn't understand a single word that was sung, they had a good time. I think. Tom almost fell asleep. I had a good time on the stage. My energy was released, and spread to the audience. Good good good.

4:36PM - Witty Title Here
"Nothing justifies a horrible attack like the one we just experienced, but..." says Sammy, the ficticious representation of some certain people. The "but" contradicts the first idea, telling us the speaker indeed does believe there is some sort of justification for the WTC attack. Reason, yes. Justification, no.
It offends me greatly that people live in America, enjoying the freedoms and the luxuries of this great land, but, in the face of a national tragedy, fail to support the government that makes our way of life possible. I hear vague and uninformed statements about how the US must be doing bad things around the globe. If you are living in this country and disagree with the policy or actions taken by this government, do something to help change the situation. If you cannot change it, and are still not satisfied, don't be a hypocrite. Move somewhere else. Government politics are very complicated, I know that. I accept the freedoms and protection given to me, and I stand behind the decisions my government makes.

Hoaxes Galore
10:49AM
Please
don't believe this. I can't believe that I actually must have conversations with people about this stuff. It seems that Nostradamus also predicted last year's election.
If you have ever received an email in your life, no doubt
you have received this one 20 times in the past two days. The attitude of the writer doesn't feel write, and I didn't believe it had been written after this disaster.
I hadn't heard this one.
Satan's face in the WTC explosion? Ummmm? I'm already in a bad mood, so stop wasting my time, Philadelphia.
The have heard one thing today that I haven't been able to find any information on, thus I am forced to believe that it is truly a word of mouth hoax. Tom Pacio told me on the phone during the half-time of my opera, that Whitney Houston had overdosed and died. Please forgive me if it wasn't you, Tom. My mind is a bit foggy today, but it was either Tom or someone immediately after I spoke to Tom. I don't think it's true.

Like a radio contest in which the winner gets to speak to his family and friends, I spent much of the day attempting to use the phone. Usually I could dial, but would hear one of several messages telling me that all the circuits are busy. Occasionally I wouldn't even have a dial tone.
I miss Amy very much, and she misses me. Florida is very far away. Amy has felt uneasy in her apartment in FL since she went there, a few weeks ago. She is living in the same town that some of the hijackers lived in. Hang in there, Amy. Everything will be okay.
Tuesday, September 11
My generation's day that will live in infamy.
11:07PM
I hope everyone appreciates their local firefighters. They do so much more than fight fires. They knowlingly place themselves in danger to save our lives. Hundreds of firefighters lost their lives today, and I am deeply saddened.
I woke up to hear my friend talking on his cell phone. I turned on the tv, and watched as thousands and thousands of people were killed. I stood in line at the nearest payphone, to call my relatives. I walked to McDonald's around 11:30. I ordered a 2 cheeseburger meal. I felt like I should be doing something else, instead of eating. I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow.
6:55PM
Rehearsals for the NYCO's production of The Mikado are going well. We had a piano dress run on Sunday, and our orchestra dress is on Thursday. I need to find and purchase the correct makeup before performances begin.
I get sick to my stomach when I think about what happened today.
6:47PM
Wow. The morning that the World Trade Center is destroyed, AT&T sets up my phone..
I'm okay, my roommates are okay, and all my close friends are okay. I'm glad my parents left last night, so they weren't around for all the madness. I'll bet that cruise ships won't be leaving the area tonight. Or maybe they will.
Wow.
So much has happened since the 23rd of August.
I've moved into my happy new apartment at 41-06 58th St.
Terrorists blew up the WTC.
Thirsty, August 23
11:29PM
Don't be alarmed everyone, but I may be out of touch for the next few days. Actually, I _know_ that I won't be checking my email for about a week. Please forgive me! I'm moving all my crap to my new apartment, and the phone won't be hooked up for a few days. I'll be sure to let you know when I'm back!
12:31AM
Adam was 35 minutes late meeting me outside the Ford Center on 42nd Street. I thought, this is what's going to go wrong. Adam won't show, and out of fear for his safety, we won't sign the lease, and we'll lose the apartment. He showed up. We went to the apartment and looked at it for my third time, Little Kim's second, and Big Adam's first. He liked it, too. I say to Little Kim, "I'm just waiting for the bad thing to happen. I don't know what it is, but I'm waiting." After our viewing, the broker says, "The landlord wants 2 months security, is that going to be a problem?" I say, "Yes, it is." I think to myself, okay, now _this_ is what's going to go wrong. The broker talks a bunch of Chinese, and it's settled that we'll just pay one month's security. Relief.
We go downstairs and watch an hour of television in the landlord's apartment, while the broker types up the rider to the lease. We sign. All is well. Mrs. Yang (our landlord's wife) has made some noodles for dinner, and would like to feed us. Being hungry, we accept. A few hours after we arrived, we leave with a signed lease, and full tummys. Thank goodness. I'm moving in tomorrow.
Wenzday, August 22
2:50PM
- Dear Christie,
"Those People" are probably jerks. However, if you hang out in the left lane so often that you begin to notice trends in "Those People"'s actions, then you are also causing a problem on the highway. Pass on the left, then get to the right.
Signing the lease today. The fellow at last did some reference checking on us, and he hasn't called to cancel the appointment or anything, so everything looks good! I never thought I'd be so excited to spend thousands of dollars.
The tags on my car run out after September. I have to go through emissions testing in NY, send the results to Oregon, then have my parents send me back new tags, all before they leave on their little vacation on the 7th of September. I think the 7th. Curses!
Twosday, August 21, I think we all know what year it is.
4:28PM, but do you really care?
- Okay, who wrote this:

The requested URL /images/bigbug.jpg was not found on this server.
It must be someone who can't READ. hehehe. Remember when I wrote down there just a couple of entries ago that the bug picture was broken, and would remain as such until I found my camera? Well, goodness. I wish I was
Dan Nordquist so I could reference the exact journal entry for you. Anyways, I found my camera, so all will be well by tonight.

- Hold your breath for us... the lease signing will take place on Wenzday! One time I was sitting backstage for Amy's Fiddler on the Roof, unable to watch the show. I held my breath for 1 minute and 36 seconds.

- Rehearsal let out at 2PM today. Hooray! I'm still getting paid from 11-6. Hoooooorrraaayyy!
My goal for today is to convince Little Kim that she has enough money to get the three bedroom apartment in Woodside. It's a nice area, a nice building, a nice apartment. The train ride is even shorter than my current train ride, and that ain't bad. In addition to a shorter trip to Manhattan, the 7 runs all the time. I'm talking about every single person gets their own personal train, much like the waste of money that is the Boston train system. Except New York's subway isn't a waste of money.
Bugs are attracted to the ring finger on my left hand. I was walking to my car yesterday, and a big bee ran into the ring finger on my left hand. As I was driving down the road with my arm out the window, a juicy bug splatted on the ring finger on my left hand. Actually, the bee might have hit a different finger and/or hand. Still, how would you know?
Ewwww, speaking of bugs... look at the picture over there of the bug that was perched on Amy's back. It was about 3.5" long, and gross and wingy and it had big pincher things. Yuck.
I can't find my digital camera. That bug picture over there will remain broken until I do. It's worth the wait.

- So, did you like the new Flash movie? If you didn't check it out,
go back and look at it. I was just fiddling, and I figured out some new ways to make things more compact. I know it's hard to believe, but I do all the voices in my movies.
Speaking of going to bed because I'm tired, I'm going to bed because I'm tired. Night night.
