1:17 PM Woo blogger is fast again :-)

I guess I should start using it some more... but I've found Half Empty much more fun and people really are reading what you write unlike here!

Think I'm just going to post on there about our car-drifting game...

BBC claims late Christmas victory

So when "timeshift" - i.e. video watching is taken into account, the BBC's Christmas day's programmes had more viewers than ITV's. What does that actually mean? The audience didn't actually watch the programmes on Christmas day, so what's the point of scheduling them then? Christmas Day is like a really big day for people to... record some programmes to watch later. We've got TiVo in our house and it's clear to see what will happen is that traditional scheduling will die.

The only programmes that need to be scheduled at all are those that are live, perhaps things like sports, and live news events. But most other programmes will just be made available for download to your home player, perhaps for a set fee, perhaps as part of a package. Scheduling is dead!

10:25 AM Two songs, and especially videos, that will always remind me of working nights at my first job: Oasis, Don't Look Back In Anger and Dog Eat Dog, No Fronts [coming down with the no fronts remix!]. Working nights there basically meant checking on a few computers, answering a few calls from radio stations, maybe playing out a few trails for the Pepsi Chart but mostly watching MTV. Fantastic.

Slashdot: Paying For Content In The Future - This got me thinking about bytes. You can't tag a byte. 0xBE could be part of my spreadsheet or the middle of an Eminin record. Profound huh?

1:22 PM Sundays still freak me out ever since school and that horrible feeling of not having done my homework and the weekend being over. Even though now I enjoy work, I don't have any homework, and even then I didn't mind school... but that Sunday feeling lives on for ever.
