gay benefits
To Whom it May Concern:
As an American, I was proud to contribute what I could to the September 11th fund. Upon learning that partners of gay and lesbians won't receive benefits for their deceased loved ones, I am embarrassed and ashamed to have contributed anything at all. It seems to me that the policy of excluding a person's loved ones flies in the face of everything September 11 should have taught us about the crucial need for acceptance and tolerance.
I urge you to change the policy.
Sincerely,
Denver, CO
