I was filling in a form for acceptance of my welfare payemnts commitments and reading the latest news on Teletext when a report flashed up in yellow on the page I was reading "Plane crashes into World Trade Centre. More soon".
I had to admit that I didn't know what the World Trade Centre was until six minutes later when every terresital channel dropped their schedules and joined their own 24 hour rolling news network. I saw the second impact, the reports from the Pentagon, both collapses and President Bush's live statment all in a state of absolute unbelievabiltiy at what had happened. In fact it was until the end of that week that what had happened finally sunk in.
