What is that?

I would like to know what is in his hand? I think he has a nervous smile, when someone takes your picture you automatically smile. I remember being so sad when leaving GZero and someone took my picture and I just smiled.. Then I thought why did I just smile? I felt stupid because I wasn't happy.
