Way Back When

In the year that has passed since the attacks on September 11, 2001, I hadn't seen a single photograph of the Twin Towers during their construction. Conversely, the media has all too often exposed to me images of devastation, loss, and destruction. The recycled footage of planes slamming into the Trade Center and the consequential collapse of the Towers does indeed seem cliched by an insensitive and unoriginal American media. It seems as though the media makes light of the tragedy in the name of the story of the century. Much like the images and stories of New York City regrouping and uniting after the attacks, it's refreshing (and somewhat surreal) to see the Towers years ago, before their completion and long before the attacks.
