This photo was taken the next morning from atop Ridge Road over looking the Pentagon. With the Washington Monument in the back ground one wondered what events were yet to come. People place candles, flags, and other items on and at the base of a nearby tree. Young and old alike stood and talked in a whisper as they looked at the Pentagon below. You could since a feeling of bewilderment as one looked in the faces of the onlookers.
