Item 97023
How has your life changed because of what happened on september 11, 2001?
My life has changed because I know that terrorism is real, not a story from another world. The fear that loved ones have been lost or that danger may have come their way. It reaches across the world to my home, England. I will always know that moment when you realize that somone you love may have gone from this world.
How will you remember the 10th anniversary of the september 11 attacks?
I will always remember that moment when i turned on the TV and just saw buildings falling. Then I thought about my girlfriend who was visitng New York. I tried her cellphone but all the lines were down, then I spoke to her mother and sick with fear she knew nothing. I just sat there wondering if she was alive. Days later I spoke to her and they were planning on going but had a hangover from the night before. They went to Central Park and they just saw thousands of people emerging from everywhere. I visited NYC a year after and always remember going to ground zero and seeing a memorial video being sold and the music was Enya Only Time. I play that song to remind me of the people who had their lives taken from them, and those moments with their loved ones that they will never have,
